Lachung Tour Package

Start early from Gangtok after breakfast and travel north towards Lachung. The route follows mountain roads through the Teesta valley and settlements such as Mangan, with scenic river views and changing landscapes. Stops may be made at accessible waterfalls or viewpoints depending on road conditions, weather and local traffic management.

Continue towards Lachung, where you will check in to a local hotel or lodge on arrival. The drive can be long and road conditions may change, so keep the day flexible and follow your driver’s guidance. Rest, stay hydrated and allow time to adjust to the altitude. Overnight stay in Lachung.

After an early breakfast, drive to Yumthang Valley, a high-altitude valley known for open meadows, a river, mountain backdrop and seasonal rhododendron blooms. Flowering conditions vary by season, while snow and scenery change through the year. Walk only in permitted areas and follow local instructions, especially near the river and fragile alpine vegetation.

If permits, weather and road access allow, continue beyond Yumthang towards Zero Point (Yumesamdong), a higher-altitude excursion near the Indo-China border region. This optional drive is subject to local authorisation and may be restricted without notice. Return to Lachung in the afternoon for rest and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out and begin the return drive from Lachung to Gangtok. The journey retraces the mountain route through North Sikkim, with short stops only where road and traffic conditions permit. Keep snacks, water and warm layers handy, as the drive can take much of the day.

On arrival in Gangtok, continue to your hotel or an agreed onward drop-off point. If you have a same-day flight or train, plan a separate buffer or overnight stay in Gangtok because road delays can affect connections. Your Lachung tour concludes after the return transfer.
