Reach Manebhanjan, the traditional gateway to the Sandakphu route, by road from Darjeeling or Siliguri. Meet the local tour representative and complete any required formalities before beginning the mountain journey. The route climbs through forested slopes and small settlements, with photo stops where road and weather conditions allow.

Continue towards Tumling, a quiet ridge village near the Singalila region. After check-in at a basic mountain lodge or homestay, enjoy the surrounding views and a short acclimatisation walk. Keep the evening restful, carry warm layers and stay hydrated. Overnight stay at Tumling or a nearby approved stop, subject to availability.

After an early breakfast, continue towards Sandakphu by an authorised local 4WD vehicle or on foot, according to the confirmed package and current route conditions. The journey passes through high-altitude landscapes and settlements associated with the Singalila ridge. Stops are planned only at permitted viewpoints and safe locations.

At Sandakphu, take time to enjoy the expansive mountain panorama when visibility is clear. Views of the Everest and Kanchenjunga ranges are weather-dependent and cannot be guaranteed. Follow local forest rules, avoid straying from marked areas and allow time for acclimatisation. Overnight stay at Sandakphu, subject to lodge availability and operating conditions.

After breakfast, begin the return journey from Sandakphu towards Manebhanjan, using the authorised vehicle or trekking arrangement confirmed in advance. The descent offers another opportunity to appreciate the ridge scenery and mountain villages, although stops may be adjusted to road conditions and the day’s travel time.

On reaching Manebhanjan, connect with your pre-arranged transfer towards Darjeeling, Siliguri or Bagdogra. Keep a generous buffer for onward trains or flights because mountain travel can take longer in changing weather.
