Arrive at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and drive to Darjeeling through winding mountain roads. After hotel check-in and some time to rest, head towards Chowrasta and the Mall Road area to get acquainted with the hill town. Enjoy the views, browse local shops and experience the relaxed atmosphere of the town centre.

If time permits, visit Happy Valley Tea Estate to learn about Darjeeling tea cultivation and processing. Estate visits and factory access depend on operating hours and season. Return to the hotel for dinner at your own arrangement and an overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Start early for Tiger Hill, a popular sunrise viewpoint known for views of Kanchenjunga on clear mornings. The sunrise and mountain panorama are weather-dependent, so visibility cannot be guaranteed. On the way back, stop at Batasia Loop, where the narrow-gauge toy train curves around a landscaped railway loop with mountain views.

Continue to Ghoom Monastery, one of the region’s well-known Buddhist monasteries. Later, explore the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway heritage area or enjoy a short toy-train experience if seats and schedules are available. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the nearby Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, subject to their weekly closing days and operating hours. These attractions offer insight into mountaineering history and Himalayan wildlife conservation. Keep sufficient time for both visits and follow the institutions’ visitor guidelines.
