RIVER VALLEY & GLACIERAfter breakfast, drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg along the Sindh River. The journey is approximately 80–90 km and usually takes around two and a half to three hours, subject to traffic, weather and road controls.
On arrival, check in and explore the meadow. During the accessible season, arrange a locally authorised pony or shuttle excursion towards the Thajiwas Glacier area. Availability and the point reachable vary with snow and local regulations.
Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Sonamarg. Carry a warm layer even in summer, as temperatures can change quickly in the valley, and follow local instructions around snowfields and stream crossings. Warm footwear and sun protection are useful, even when snow remains visible. Check locally before setting out.
